Situation Report on Vaccination Roll-Out

Everyone in Tiers 1 -4 is expected to be vaccinated by mid-February. That is good news and I congratulate the way that South East London Clinical Care Group in combination with the Bromley General Practitioners Alliance have tackled the problem.

Meeting Father Christmas

I met Father Christmas in Marks and Spencers' Car Park on Sunday 13 December. He had been invited there by the Beckenham Roatary Club of which I an also a member.

Update on Activities

I take no pleasure in the downfall of anyone but I am pleased that Mr Cummings has left Downing Street. His behaviour over a trip north to Durham and visit to Barnard Castle apparently caused a major rift in relations between himself and the Prime Minister.

Remembrance Sunday at Beckenham War Memorial

The Beckenham War Memorial was unveiled on 24 July 1921 by Mr Bert Hanscombe DCM MM who was a local war hero and by then a local dustman (see photos of Mr Hanscombe and the Opening Ceremony).

Previously on posts I have questioned the efficacy of facemasks and indeed a second hard lockdown.  I still do but I accept that others, in Government and in the medical profession, maintain that I am wrong.  They are in the majority too and democratically I accept that.
