Saturday 24 June

Today is Armed Forces Day but I had attended the formal local ceremony held at Bromley's Civic Centre earlier in the week.  However, because of my obvious connections to the Army, I was also invited on to Andrew Castle's LBC radio programme to review the papers; which I did from 7.30am this morni

Wednesday 14 June

Last night I appeared on BBC 2's Newsnight.  I was quizzed on the proposed link-up between the Conservative Party and Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) of Northern Ireland.  When asked why the DUP would want a deal I explained that the very last thing they wanted was to see Jeremy Corbyn in Number

Monday 12 June

MPs will be returning to Westminster today; I amongst them.  Sadly, the Conservatives have lost their absolute majority, principally because of a disastrous election campaign.  That is now in the past and now is time to get on with it.

Friday 9 June

It was a real honour to be re-elected as Beckenham’s MP and I am eternally grateful to my constituents.  The poll results were as follows:

I am very sorry that seven innocent people were murdered last night on and near London Bridge and my heart goes out to all the families who lost someone. The men that were responsible are utter scum.  Within 8 minutes from the first 999 call all three were shot dead by our great police force.

Saturday 3 June

I arrived back in Gatwick from my mother-in-law’s funeral at 0730hrs this morning and, after a brief pit-stop for breakfast with Robert Straker and other friends in Renzi Yildrim’s Moonlight Café on Croydon Road, I went directly to the West Wickham Conservative Street Stall in the High Street the

Thursday 1 - Friday 2 June

Very sadly my mother-in-law, Anne-Marie Podbielski, was taken ill and died in the early hours of Tuesday 30th May.  In order to pay my last respects and attend her funeral I will therefore be away in Geneva, Switzerland, today and tomorrow.
