Two girls from Langley Girls School in the Beckenham constituency joined Bob Stewart MP this week at his office in Westminster for work experience. Beginning with a tour of the Palace of Wesminster by Bob, the girls then got to experience at first hand the role of a Member of Parliament. The pupils learned how constituents problems are taken up and pursued by their MP. They also got to watch the Backbench Committee defence debate on 9th September in which Bob Stewart spoke about British forces in Afghanistan.
Bob said ""I welcome the opportunity to have Beckenham pupils come along to my office in Westminster to see the work I do. It's important for young people to be interested in politics and to be able to see how our democracy works, as well as to see their MP working for them"".
